If you are still experiencing problems, try reinstalling the driver and clicking the “allow” button, then restart your Mac. After allowing driver installation, you will need to restart your Mac.

If the “Allow” button is not clicked within 30 minutes of installing the driver, the option to allow will disappear and you will have to install the driver again. If anything pops up in that area after checking the radio button regarding the Shuttle, press “Allow”. In that section you’ll want to ensure “App store and identified developers” is checked off under the “Allow apps downloaded from:” section.

Additionally, sometimes you need to physically disconnect and reconnect the Shuttle USB cable after your computer reboots and you’ve “allowed” in the general tab. Then reinstall the driver, allow your Mac to reboot, and click the “allow” button again. If you are still seeing the incorrect icon indented, try uninstalling the driver (by opening the driver interface, clicking “Preferences” in the upper right hand corner, and selecting “Uninstall Contour Shuttle”). An exception is if you’re trying to install the original (no longer manufactured) ShuttlePRO. A general indication that a step above may have been missed is seeing the original “ShuttlePRO” icon indented in the upper left corner of the driver window (the icon in the middle), instead of the “ShuttlePRO V2” icon or “ShuttleXpress” icon, depending on the product you’re trying to set up. If the “Allow” button is not clicked within 30 minutes of installing the driver, the option to allow will disappear and you will have to uninstall and reinstall the driver again. Frequently there will be an option to manually “Allow” the driver in the blank space underneath the “App store and identified developers” radio button that you will need to approve. After the driver is installed and your computer reboots, check the “Security & Privacy” “general” tab again.

If you are prompted to allow access to System Events during installation, select “OK”. After the button has checked, run the driver installation program. Prior to installing the Shuttle driver, open System Preferences, click on Security & Privacy and click the “general” tab. The following steps can generally prevent you from running into this problem.
